• Forget your standards. We all have standards and sometimes, when they aren’t met, we become totally disappointed. Take time to appreciate the positive side not only of your partner but of yourself. These are the things that made you two fall in love in the first place.

• Stop controlling. Are you starting to become a control-freak? Lie down before you hurt yourself. Smothering your partner will not help you improve the relationship. Let her do the things she like and give in to your own passions as well. Make room for the both of you to grow. By giving space, you keep your relationship exciting and not monotonous. Think about it.

• Time to get busy. The usual routine is getting boring and it’s now time to upgrade both your calendars. Think of an activity you both want to do but never get to do it and make a schedule for it this weekend. Better yet, surprise her. Nothing beats spontaneity to liven up the romance.

• Express your love often. Cook for her, hold her hand, give her a big hug — these things might have taken the back seat in your relationship but they’re actually the little stuff that keeps the passion alive. Compliment her at least once everyday and she will surely feel your affection. No need to go all sugary. Making her feel how important she is to you is enough.

I was in the kitchen this morning preparing my coffee and a commercial came on that has the most wonderful, uplifting music. So I just spontaneously started doing a little dance, but without lifting my feet. I had my socks on, as I usually do, so I could move about in a slippy, slidy way. I’ll have to admit, I was feeling pretty darned cute.

Since the job that the universe has assigned me is to “inspire people to do the work required to be happy,” I decided to say something on my Facebook update. It ended up being a happy-fest as many of my ‘friends’ added comments. I’d like to share our stream of thought with you in hopes that it will inspire you to do a little dancing in your socks.

My original post: Kara Oh wears socks in the house because it allows her to dance in the kitchen with a slippy, slidey, sexy creativity. Try it, you’ll like it.
